Karim Khani Warehouses

Karim Khani Warehouses include:

Hafezieh’s Warehouse, Lawyer’s, Divan’s Warehouse and Seven Tons built by Karim Khan Zand (d. 1163-1193 AH) to provide drinking water for Shiraz people in several parts of the city.

And it is known for its Karim Khani warehouses. The design of these cisterns is derived from the Safavid era architecture and are very large and solid in construction.

The reservoirs of these cisterns are very large. The staircase allows access to the water in the storeroom.The high reaches of these water storage halls, designed to cool the water and ventilate the existing space, are decorated and decorated with bricks and rhombus patterns on their craters. Their water channels are also made of stone and mortar.

The height of each channel is 60/01 m and the wall thickness is 0.5 m. The source of the water channel was at the time of Zandieh aqueduct Roknabad.

Hafezieh Water Storage:

Below the storage shelf, the entrance has been blocked since the porch was built.

It also has three exterior stone fused valves. Vakil Water Storege: Located in the south of Lawyer’s Bath and Warehouse Warehouse is northeast of the main building of Fars Province National Bank, opposite the Karimkhani citadel, with only a staircase and part of its roof remaining. On the waterfront there used to be a building called the House of Naqareh that was built to deliver important messages to the people and has now been destroyed. In addition, the back of the building, which includes a windshield for ventilation inside the storage water, was also completely destroyed. There was a place between the storage room and the building of the courtyard, which is now destroyed and only one of its arches remains on the wall of the courtyard. Since May 1331, when the water needed for the people of Shiraz was piped, the water use of the warehouses decreased and their craters were gradually covered with soil and rock and have not been repaired yet. Karim khani water reservoirs are registered in the National Iranian List of Works on 9/8/1355 with number 935.
